The school had our annual Prize Giving Day on 15 November 2013. Our class had done well. All the prize winners were double award winners.
Character Award : Heng Yik Hong
Each year an award is given to a child in each class that displays great character based on our school values.
This year I awarded the Character Award to Yik Hong. Yik Hong is an obedient and helpful child. He readily lends a hand to anyone who is in need. He is also a responsible pupil and is our class AVA monitor. He is indeed a role model for every pupil in the class.
1st in Class : Jovan Loh
Jovan also won the the Best in Chinese Award. He is also the Top student in the P1 level.
2nd in Class : Cayden Ong
Cayden also won the Best in Mathematics Award.
3rd in Class : Iona Koo
Iona also won the Best in Mathematics Award.
Congratulations to all the prize winners. I am very proud of all of you. May you continue to strive for the best.

In Term 3, our class went through the Visual Arts PAL lesson with Miss Salina. Here are the pictures taken with their completed work. They were impressive.
The children worked in groups of 3 to complete the following :
1) an imaginary monster
2) a park
3) a playground using recycled materials
This term, we had outdoor learning for our PAL lessons. For our last lesson for PAL(Programme for Active Learning) , the instructors taught the children how to make a sandwich.
They were taught the importance of hygiene when preparing food and following instructions. They also learned how to share the ingredients among themselves.
I could tell straight away the girls help out more in the kitchen than the boys. They were more skillful in handling the knives and ingredients. I smiled and thought, "Wow...these are "mummies" in the making."
I tried hard to remind myself not to help them too much ( and to relax when I see the mess!). They need to go through this learning process as these little ones will one day be preparing meals for their future husbands, wives or children. Well the best part was of course eating the sandwiches they made themselves..:)
